Brett Morton was appointed as the special district judge for the Chickasaw Nation District Court Oct. 1, 2020.
A native Oklahoman and proud citizen of the Chickasaw Nation, he was born and raised in Ardmore, Oklahoma. He is the great-great-grandson of original enrollee, Cordelia Lannom. Judge Morton is the founding member of Morton Law Group, PLLC, with offices in Ardmore and Oklahoma City. He is admitted to practice law before the Chickasaw Nation, Oklahoma Supreme Court, the United States District Courts for the Western and Eastern Districts of Oklahoma and the United States Bankruptcy Courts for the Western and Eastern Districts of Oklahoma.
Judge Morton currently serves on the board of trustees for the Southeastern Oklahoma State University Foundation. He has served as the president of the Carter County Bar Association since 2019.
He and his wife, Erika, reside in Ardmore, with their two children Lizzy and Cooper.
